Astounding!
Enhance your Phantom
Okay… we admit it… we do tend to blow our own trumpet now and then.
When we’re incredibly enthusiastic about one of our discoveries, we’re more than happy to share it—and let’s be honest, we’re certainly not waiting to be proven wrong.
So far, our “Enhance your Phantom with Innuos” claim is far from off the mark, judging by the feedback we’ve received from one of our customers.
Customer Peter had no choice but to complement his Phantoms Opéra de Paris with the Innuos combination after his listening experience.
So, to all the skeptics out there: don’t take our word for it—listen to Peter’s experience…
Something special ?
A few days ago, Audiofile from ’s Gravenmoer sent me an email with glowing words about an INNUOS streamer connected to a set of Devialet Phantom speakers. Apparently, this setup was something special. Being naturally skeptical, I decided to give them a call.
Since I’m well into retirement, it’s always a question of whether I can even hear all these so-called “clear improvements.” My primary interest is in the emotional connection to music, not necessarily the audiophile aspect.
My current setup consists of a pair of Devialet Phantom I 108dB Opéra de Paris speakers (previously connected with the DIALOG) for listening to music through the M-connect Player HD app, using the HiFi versions of Tidal and Deezer. I also have a DIONE soundbar connected to an 8K Samsung TV. While the soundbar is great, it’s still less suited for music.
Since it was the holiday season, it was quick and easy to book an Audiofile Hearing Analysis (AGA) through their website. After a detailed and enlightening review of my AGA, it was time to listen to the setup mentioned in the email.
Constant goosebumps
The setup featured an INNUOS Zen Mini S Roon server, streamer/bridge, DAC, and storage connected to a pair of Devialet Phantom I 108dB speakers. Later, we also added the INNUOS Pulse Mini streamer/bridge. Both units were powered by their dedicated Zen Mini LPSU linear power supplies.
The (free) Innuos Sense app was available on both tablet and phone, seamlessly retrieving my preferences from Tidal and Deezer. Playback and volume control were smooth, quick, and uninterrupted.
With songs I knew well, I got goosebumps—every single time. I could hardly believe my ears. So, I kept searching for more tracks—classical, Latin, jazz, vocals—listening for well over an hour.
I had already heard “bass” from my Phantoms, but what happened here was simply “unheard of.” This level of clarity and precision was something I had never experienced before. The calmness the streamer brought to the music was incredible. It was almost surreal—you could hear whether a guitarist was playing with catgut or steel strings, using nails or fingertips. The piano felt as if it was right there in the room, as did the singer—just unbelievable.
Hearing the Silence
What struck me most after a longer listening session—even at high volumes—was that, for the first time, I could hear “silence.”
It stood out both between tracks and within musical pieces—where silence was meant to be, it was truly silent.
Not once did I experience any “listening fatigue,” despite the fact that I had already been attentively listening for more than 2.5 hours. Remarkable—and certainly worth experiencing for yourself.
All in all, a truly exceptional recommendation I would encourage all music lovers to try for themselves.
