Sunday Solo Shows

#undisturbed

On the landing page of our Sunday Solo Shows you can read the text below that belongs to our newest service:

Something for you?

Enjoying an audio show for a whole hour without being disturbed by onlookers or listeners? An audio show that you can schedule online all by yourself? A show you are allowed to leave quietly afterwards?

Then hold on tight. As of now Audiofile will be organizing ‘Sunday Solo Shows’ every Sunday.

The Sunday Solo Show is for the audio enthusiast whose Christmas tree lights up when visiting the very best audio shows. And who wishes to do so in peace and quiet, without third parties present.

The audio enthusiast who appreciates being able to leave the store quietly afterwards – with respect for the environment – to continue the day inspired by the show.

The fact that you decide for yourself what time the show starts and that booking your show only takes 24.3 seconds, puts a big smile on your face…

Why the Solo Shows?

The text above actually says it all. The Solo Shows are meant to be able to experience a show undisturbed, without the presence of third parties.

To be clear. The Sunday Solo Shows are fairly similar to the conventional audio shows. Although the small differences make the context slightly different.

The conventional shows
You enter, you (often) see a beautifully set-up. You hear the music, you go to see which strategic chair is still available, and sit down. You notice shop staff around you, one of whom is responsible for playing the meticulously chosen playlist.

Often there is a word in advance, during the show (useful) information is given that relates to the demonstrated audio set. You are taken along in the flow of the music and the audio set. You enjoy the interaction between the demo host and various people from the audience. You enjoy the vibe in the room.

After 30 minutes you see a chair become available that significantly improves your strategic position (read: better in the stereo sweet spot). You don’t think twice and quickly jump from your chair to the better chair. You are reassured. You can reevaluate the audio set.

After 57 minutes you have had enough and decide to get up. You hang around the store for a bit, and then, with respect for the environment, leave the premises.

Sunday Solo Shows

The Sunday Solo Shows are not very different, but then again they are (the devil is in the detail).

Sunday Solo Shows

  • You have booked a one-hour time slot in advance to attend an audio show
  • You enter through the main entrance
  • You know that when you are in the store no one is there
  • A beautiful set is set up (you already knew that because you had already seen it in advance)
  • That also sounds amazing
  • You do not have to screen for the best place to listen, because the best place is already there for you
  • You also do not have to screen for store staff, because they are not
  • You do not have to wait for the demo host, because he is not there either
  • No demo host is also no playlist
  • You know this, so you have already made a playlist at home
  • You know that you have access to Tidal and Qobuz and that you can use the tablet in the store
  • You can now start playing the tracks you want to listen to

After 15 minutes

  • After fifteen minutes you feel like having a cup of coffee, tea or soft drink
  • You use the Audiofile app to place your order; it is delivered within 2 minutes
  • After 23.5 minutes you have a pressing question about the connected Wilson Audio Sasha speakers
  • You see a large button in the corner of your left eye with the text ‘First Aid for Audio Questions’ underneath
  • You press once, and you notice that Audiofile is in your room within 26 seconds
  • You want an extensive explanation about the Wilson speakers. You make Audiofile very happy with this. After the explanation you experience a feeling of recognition and understanding.
  • After 48 minutes you are not only a little thirsty but also a little hungry.
Now you use the Audiofile app again and now you dare to choose something tasty with your drink. The speed of delivery is the same as the first time.

An hour has gone by

  • The hour is over… You are now in conflict
  • Do you go to the second Audiofile store at the back, where an audio set is also playing? And where the Audiofile specialists/nerds are present? Where you can have a nice chat about the set you listened to? And where, according to the gossip circuit, the cozy drinks are also served?
  • Or do you go home?
  • You promised your wife that you would be home in time for a romantic walk in the forest. You therefore decide to leave the Audiofile store in silence, with respect for the environment.
  • You walk, inspired by the music, the unique atmosphere, the friendliness of the Audiofile people, the knowledge gained by the same people, via the main entrance, via the 70 meter path to the spacious parking lot ‘especially for customers’.
  • You get into your car, turn onto the path, at the end of the path you turn right (watch out for cyclists and cars) and glide over the Hoofdstraat, one of the most beautiful streets in Brabant, you are going home…

Right to exist

Both shows, the conventional and the Sunday Solo Shows, have a right to exist in our opinion. So it is not a question of choosing or having to choose a side. There is something to be said for both. There are disadvantages to both shows. The list of ‘why useful’ for both shows is long. It is also not that we (Audiofile) will no longer organize conventional shows. We will continue to do so. We believe that one may exist alongside the other.

The Sunday Solo Shows were perhaps mainly created to serve the group of people who simply feel more comfortable when there are not too many people around them, or preferably no one at all.

This group of people, to which the Audiofile members themselves belong, really enjoys being in peace and quiet, without the coughing of listeners, without the sound of people coming in and out, without the interruptions of people from the audience (why do I have to hear which set you have and why it sounds so good), without the painful questions from the store staff “And? What do you think of the set?”……a wonderful demo to experience.

In which a maximum connection can be made between the audio set and the listener. In peace and quiet, without annoying noise in the background.

Ergo: we have actually come up with a unique concept exactly as we would want it if we were audio consumers.

And let’s be honest. Isn’t there anything more beautiful than coming up with something that suits you completely, in which you hope to reach a ‘forgotten’ group of people? Talking about a sense of meaning.
